High security number plates are not visible on many vehicles.

If we talk about Delhi in particular, in the last 5 months, more than 16 thousand challans have been issued for wrong number plates. Many crimes can be committed by putting the number plate on the vehicle in the wrong way. That is why the traffic police has to show strictness for this.

What are the criteria for installing number plates?

The size of the number plate has been fixed for all vehicles. If we talk about bikes, the length of the number plate should be 30 mm while its width should be 5 mm. Along with this, there should be 2.5 mm space between the alphabets. The size of the number plate also increases with the strength of the vehicle. It has been seen on many occasions that many criminals put such fake number plates on vehicles to commit crimes.

There can be a fine of 5 thousand rupees

Due to these reasons, it has now been made mandatory to install high security number plates on all vehicles in India. If a driver installs any other number plate other than the high security number plate, if someone installs a number plate of his own choice or gets something else written on his number plate, then he can be fined up to Rs 5,000.
